A beautifully balanced Mdina cube vase, signed and dated 1977 by Eric Dobson. This distinctive form — a broad, squared body with a narrow, elongated neck — is a signature shape from Mdina’s early years and a strong example of Eric Dobson’s studio work during his directorship in Malta.

This piece is executed in the rare and highly sought-after Tiger colourway, with molten swirls of ochre, amber, and deep marine blue suspended in sea-green glass. The palette evokes the warmth of sandstone and ocean depths, layered in rich, organic movement — a hallmark of 1970s Mdina production.

Signed Eric Dobson Mdina Glass 1977 on the base, this is a superb studio piece from one of the most collectable periods in Mdina’s history.
